Before I talk about our round at Lester I would like to say happy birthday to one of the greatest musicians and songwriters of all time. He also just happens to have been raised just under 100 miles from Duluth in Hibbing, Minnesota. That’s right it is Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday! I think we will have to make a Bob Dylan playlist on Grooveshark in honor of Zimmy.
Now for our first round at Lester. The lake nine at Lester Golf Course can be a challenging nine holes of golf, especially if it’s your first round of the year! Alex and I weren’t too worried and were happy to get a tee time as the course was packed because of a Men’s Club tournement. The key to the Lake Nine at Lester is keeping the ball straight. The course is heavily wooded and can get pretty windy on certain holes. Needless to say the round had its ups and downs. A few pars and a couple holes I would rather forget! That’s alright though because it was nice to get outside and enjoy some fresh air blowing off of Superior. The course also has some amzing views overlooking the lake. Below is a picture of myself on one of the putting greens. I’m sure right after this was taken I drained the twenty footer!
